Therapy is not scary.

Here is what to expect.

1

Are we a good fit?

During a phone consultation you’ll be asked a few questions to help determine if we can meet your therapy needs.

2

Schedule an intake.

We’ll meet to establish goals, and get an idea of what is expected on both sides moving forward.

3

Work towards goals.

As we meet regularly, we will check in frequently with your progress towards therapeutic goals. As your progress increases, our session frequency will decrease.

The important thing to know about the therapy process is that YOU are in control. The whole time.

This is your therapy. We are just here to facilitate the process and provide support. You set your boundaries, you determine your goals, and you put in the work between sessions.

FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance. We offer session rates on a sliding scale. This is determined by income and household size. You are welcome to explore the sliding scale chart to see if this is a good fit for you.

Sometimes insurance providers will provide reimbursement for self-pay services. We are happy to provide the information needed for this process.

Why do you not accept insurance?

Part of our dedication to offering accessible services is acknowledging that health insurance is not accessible for everyone. Billing through health insurance also requires an immediate diagnosis. Oftentimes a diagnosis follows an individual throughout their life in the healthcare system. We are still able to provide a diagnosis via self-pay, but at a pace that allows us to be thorough and include our clients in this process.

Not billing through health insurance also provides an opportunity to never have to use a dead name included in the treatment process. This is a really special thing to be able to offer folx we work with.

Do you work with couples or families?

We offer family therapy, but not couples/marital counseling.

Family therapy is for the whole unit at one time. Everyone comes in and leaves together for each session. We also offer family sessions when working with children and teens.

When working with youth, we require regular guardian-only sessions to check in. We make sure to incorporate these support systems and provide them with ways to best support their child.
